The Grupa Azoty Group recorded negative fourth-quarter 2022 EBITDA, with the earnings dragged down chiefly by the Agro Segment. The Group posted full-year 2022 consolidated revenue of PLN 24,658m, EBITDA of PLN 2,545m and EBITDA margin of 10.3%.
Grupa Azoty Police, the US-based Ultra Safe Nuclear Corporation (USNC) and the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin have signed an agreement to develop and construct a nuclear energy research facility based on Ultra Safe Nuclear’s Micro-Modular™ Reactor (MMR®) technology. Over the next six months, the parties will prepare a comprehensive research programme and will jointly develop a plan for the construction, operation and maintenance of the MMR.
On Tuesday March 27th, the first shipment of ethylene was delivered under the Polimery Police project, arriving at the Offshore Gas Terminal in Police. The first 3,500 tonnes of the raw material were delivered to Grupa Azoty Polyolefins S.A. on board the Gaschem Rhone vessel. The company estimates its annual ethylene requirement at about 13,000 tonnes.
Grupa Azoty Polyolefins, the special purpose vehicle implementing the Polimery Police project, has selected distributors for its new product – polypropylene to be marketed under the name Gryfilen®. In Poland, the product will be distributed by Grupa Azoty Compounding.
With effect from Friday March 17th, the Grupa Azoty Group will be charging significantly lower prices for nitrogen and compound fertilizers sold via its authorised distribution network, adjusting them to the current market situation.This is another price reduction this year after the one made in February 2023.
In the fourth quarter of 2022, the Grupa Azoty Group generated estimated consolidated revenue of PLN 5,107m and negative EBITDA of PLN -296m, with a negative EBITDA margin of -5.8%. For the full year, the Grupa Azoty Group generated estimated consolidated revenue of PLN 24,658m and EBITDA of PLN 2,545m, with an EBITDA margin of 10.3%.
