Grupa Azoty secures potash supply

On 23 December 2025, Grupa Azoty, together with Nutrien, a leading Canadian supplier of potash, signed a supply agreement valid until 31 December 2027 for the delivery of potash used in the production of NPK compound fertilizers at the Police and Fosfory plants. For Grupa Azoty’s customers, the contract translates into consistent, guaranteed quality of compound fertilizers and stable market supply.

The agreement forms part of Grupa Azoty’s broader initiatives aimed at strengthening raw-material security. Coordination of activities across the entire capital group enables cost optimisation, increased operational predictability, and the development of long-term relationships with key raw-material partners, contributing directly to production stability.

‘From the perspective of Grupa Azoty Police, the key aspect of this agreement is that it directly strengthens our ability to offer fertilizers of consistent, high quality. Stable potash supplies secured under the contract allow us to maintain fixed product parameters, which for customers means predictability and security in planning agricultural production, emphasised Andrzej Dawidowski, Vice President of Grupa Azoty and President of Grupa Azoty Police.

Under the contract, potash deliveries will be made by large vessels directly to Police, bypassing transshipment at ARA ports. This solution shortens transport time, reduces operational risks and lowers logistics costs. Direct shipments enable more efficient use of Grupa Azoty’s port infrastructure, increased throughput and improved planning of unloading operations.

The long-term agreement with Nutrien ensures not only continuity of supply of a key raw material, but also greater flexibility in planning purchase volumes and schedules. This is an important element of cost stabilisation and market-risk mitigation, while the bonus mechanism included in the contract is expected to deliver tangible benefits to Grupa Azoty already this year.

The signed agreement aligns with Grupa Azoty’s strategy of strengthening operational resilience, optimising logistics processes and delivering fertilizers of consistently high and stable quality to customers.
