Marek Kapłucha, the former Chairman of Trade and Economic Committee FE, was appointed Vice-President of Fertilizers Europe last week by the General Assembly of Fertilizers Europe. The General Assembly likewise voted to keep Andrzej Skolmowski, Vice-President of Grupa Azoty S.A as a Member of the Board.for another two years . Mr Skolmowski will also hold the position of Vice-Chairman of Statistics Committee.
A strong presence on the Board of Fertilizers Europe ensures the Group a say in decisions affecting the European fertilizer market and an opportunity to work more closely with Fertilizers Europe's member companies. FE has a major influence on e ton the European Commission in trade defence and anti-dumping, among other things, and co-operates with it in such areas . Grupa Azoty will continue to play in active role in the joint management of projects in such areas as farming, the environment and trade and technical exchange.
Fertilizers Europe (European Fertilizer Manufacturers Association) represents the Continent's major fertilizer manufacturers . Its main objectives are to educate, analyse and solve problems related to the manufacture and use of fertilizers likely to have an impact on both the environment and the health of people living in the EU. In addition, FE protects the interests of the entire EU fertilizer market, is responsible for its relations with other international bodies and institutions and is the strongest organisation representing the fertilizer industry before the European Commission. Besides Poland, its other members include companies from Spain, France, Norway, Lithuania, Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, the Netherlands, Belgium, Romania and Greece. This year, Fertilizers Europe celebrates its 25th anniversary.
