Grupa Azoty Police will not continue cooperation with Chemik Police Volleyball Club in 2024

According to the published financial results, the Grupa Azoty Police Capital Group reported a net loss of over PLN 180 million for the first three quarters of 2023. The current financial situation requires the development and implementation of a restructuring plan to stabilize the financial position of the Group, including Grupa Azoty Police. The financial results reported in recent quarters have led Grupa Azoty Police to make the difficult decision not to continue cooperation with the Chemik Police Volleyball Club in 2024. A letter regarding this decision was sent to the club on March 18, 2024.

In the last decade, thanks in part to the support of Grupa Azoty Police, the Police volleyball players have achieved many titles – winning the Polish Championship eight times and the Polish Cup seven times. Currently, the priority for the entire Capital Group, as well as Grupa Azoty Police, is to stabilize the financial situation. In recent months, considering the Group's financial situation, we have repeatedly encouraged the club's management to seek new sponsors. Supporting a team as distinguished as Chemik Police brings numerous image benefits, and we are convinced that appropriate actions towards acquiring sponsors will yield the desired results, said Anna Tarocińska, Member of the Management Board, acting President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty Police.

On March 11, 2024, Grupa Azoty announced it would not continue cooperation with Unia Tarnów ŻSSA this year. The current financial situation requires Grupa Azoty companies to review all their social and sponsorship activities.
