Grupa Azoty expands its range of deep-placement nitrogen fertilizers

The new product, named RSM BioShot, is a deep-placement nitrogen fertilizer from the group of nitrate-urea solutions (RSM). Its liquid form, containing 32% N and enriched with sucrose, has a biostimulatory effect that supports root development as well as overall plant growth and health. The fertilizer is produced by the Puławy-based company of Grupa Azoty, which for 30 years has been supplying Polish farmers with nitrate-urea solutions of various nitrogen concentrations and with different additives.

RSM BioShot is the latest new fertilizer from Grupa Azoty. In recent months, the Polish conglomerate has enriched the market with several modern products, such as FOLIRES™, POLIFOSKA Multi S, megAN, RSM OPTIMA, and eNpluS.

‘RSM BioShot is the result of our implementation efforts related to launching new products with plant-derived biocomponents that exhibit a broad spectrum of effects on plants and the soil environment. These efforts also aim at diversifying fertilizer products and increasing Grupa Azoty’s competitiveness in the market,’ says Hubert Kamola, Vice President of the Board of Grupa Azoty S.A. and President of the Board of Grupa Azoty Puławy.

Composition and Application of the Fertilizer
RSM BioShot is a universal fertilizer in the form of an aqueous solution for both pre-sowing and foliar applications. It can be used on all types of soils for fertilizing cereals, rapeseed, sugar beets, potatoes, maize, green fodder crops, as well as vegetable and orchard crops. The fertilizer should be applied in split doses tailored to the nutritional needs of the plants. The product contains three forms of nitrogen (ammoniacal, nitrate, and amide) along with one percent of a natural additive that serves as a source of sugars.

RSM BioShot – Energy for Microorganisms       
The fertilizer, enriched with sugars, increases the organic carbon content in the soil and provides a carbon source for soil microorganisms. It supports the development, diversity, population, and activity of soil fauna and microbial biomass. The addition of sugars also improves the soil’s water-holding capacity, which is beneficial under drought conditions, helping plants survive challenging climatic conditions. It contains natural bioactive compounds that may act as growth biostimulators, supporting root development, plant growth and health, and resistance to environmental stresses. Its liquid formula facilitates even application of the fertilizer and accelerates nitrogen uptake by plants.

RSM BioShot – Enhancing Biological Life in the Soil    
The addition of sucrose in the new fertilizer contributes to improving the soil’s physicochemical and biological properties, increasing the uptake of nutrients by plants and facilitating the mobilization of heavy metals during phytoremediation, thereby enhancing soil fertility. The presence of sugars and other organic compounds can also increase soil particle aggregation, which improves soil structure, leading to better porosity, aeration, and overall soil quality. Improved soil moisture, along with increased availability and uptake of nutrients for plants, further boosts crop productivity.

Even More Benefits of RSM BioShot in Plant Fertilization      
The primary advantage of the natural additive is its sugar content—mainly sucrose—which provides energy to plants. RSM BioShot contains a minimum of 0.4% total sugar, calculated as sucrose. It is a source of carbohydrates that stimulate the growth of beneficial soil microorganisms, playing a crucial role in the development of cultivated plants. It is also characterized by a high content of plant amino acids. Additionally, it contains small amounts of mineral components such as potassium, calcium, iron, and magnesium.
