The relationship may include phosphogypsum processing, acquisition of potassium salt deposits abroad, accessing natural gas reserves, construction of a polygeneration power plant, and phosphorite exploration and production.
The signatories anticipate that the collaboration may involve both commercial partnership (based on specific agreements or contracts), joint undertakings (e.g. formation of joint ventures) and equity investment.
"Considering the market's challenges we are now facing, measures which allow us to secure supplies of strategic feedstocks are a priority," says Paweł Jarczewski, President of the Management Board of Grupa Azoty S.A., adding that "Today's agreement builds on the relationship that GZNG Fosfory and Grupa Azoty Puławy already had with KGHM Polska Miedź, by expanding it to include new areas which we have identified through joint analyses."
