ApplicationSee more

Phosphoric acid is used in the production of phosphatic fertilisers, liquid fertilisers, feed phosphates and other chemical compounds. Extraction phosphoric acid may also be used in the process of dyeing fibres.

Packaging, storage and transportationSee more

Transport package: truck and rail cisterns made of rubber-coated or acid-resistant steel. Polyethylene tanks may also be used. Storage: tanks made of rubber-coated or acid-resistant steel, in open air or in rooms permeable to air, placed on concrete trays lined with acid-resistant tiles. During transportation, the regulations related to transporting hazardous materials should be followed.

Safety of applicationSee more

Phosphoric acid is highly caustic and irritating to eyes, mucous membranes and skin, causing severe pain and deep burns. Wounds heal slowly, with scars and skin inflammation. Intoxication may cause local and general damages. When handling phosphoric acid the following clothing should be worn: face cover or glasses, gloves and clothes made of acid-resistant cloth and rubber shoes. Spills of phosphoric acid should be washed with plenty of water or neutralised with milk of lime at 100 g CaO/dm3 concentration of solution with about 10% excess.
